Songs of Protest at Jupiter’s Eye Book Cafe, Spokane
Join us Friday, May 1st at Jupiter’s Eye Book Cafe for a silent auction and benefit concert!
THIS IS A FREE EVENT, AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to organizations here in Spokane helping those who need it most.
Manzanita House (@mhspokane) and M.A.S.S (@mutualaidsurvivalsquad) are independent organizations assisting immigrants with legal aid (mhspokane) and houseless neighbors with consistent basic needs (M.A.S.S).
In 2026, under an administration that decrees only those who are ‘producing’ are worthy of rights, it is vital to uplift and protect these organizations.
Featuring local musicians and poets, and supported by the generous donations of local businesses, this event is our way of utilizing the energy and connective righteous anger of our community to build something better for ourselves.

Sacrificial Poet at Spokane Poetry Slam
Poetry Slam is a form of poetry competition invented in Chicago in the 1980s. Poets have three minutes to perform their original material with no props and no costumes. Their poems are then scored by members of the audience.
This poetry slam will have two rounds, so come prepared with two poems if you want to compete!
Attendance is free, but it’s five dollars to compete. This helps fund prizes!
